Making your own cranberry sauce is so easy! It only requires 4 ingredients and you don't need to add any gelatin to get it to unmold!
For additional flavor, add apple juice, apple cider or orange juice to the cranberry sauce recipe instead of water. This recipe can be easily doubled to make sure you have enough for all of your holiday guests.
Molded Cranberry Sauce Ingredients:
- 1 quart cranberries
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
Molded Cranberry Sauce Directions:
Pick over cranberries. Wash, and add water or juice, sugar and salt. Cook until skins burst. You should hear a few of the cranberries popping open when the mixture comes to a boil.
Make sure you don't boil it for more than 10 minutes or it won't set properly.
Remove the cranberry mixture from the heat and pour it into a mold. Refrigerate until everything is cold and firms up. Unmold onto a serving plate and enjoy.
