Iced tea isn’t hard to make, but this summer, I wanted to experiment with making iced tea in the instant pot. It turned out so well, I plan on experimenting with different flavors and types of tea.
For this version, I infused plain black tea with ginger. You could use something like rosemary, basil or even berries to infuse flavor into your tea. The instant pot makes it easy to infuse flavor into your iced tea without making the tea bitter.
Ingredients for making Instant pot Iced Tea
6 Regular sized tea bags with the tags cut off
8 cups of water
1 cup of sugar
1 inch piece of ginger, sliced into 4 or 5 slices
Directions for making Instant pot Iced Tea
Place all of the ingredients in the instant pot and close the lid to sealing. Set to manual pressure for 5 minutes. After the cooking time is up, be sure to let the pressure naturally release. Once the tea has cooled off, serve over ice.
Equipment for making Instant pot Iced Tea
All you need is your instant pot! I have this model, but any model will work just fine. As long as your electric pressure cooker has a manual setting, you’ll be fine.
