{Video}60 Minute No-Knead Dinner Rolls

These quick and easy dinner rolls come together in about an hour from start to finish.  The best part is, most of that time is hands off!


1 cup lukewarm water

⅓ cup melted shortening

1 tablespoon sugar

2 teaspoons salt

1 Tablespoon active dry yeast

1 egg

З½ cups all-purpose flour

1 Tablespoon Shortening

1 Tablespoon Melted butter

Extra melted butter (optional) for brushing after rolls come out of the oven.


Start by Combining water and melted butter in a medium sized mixing bowl. Add the sugar, salt and yeast. Stir to combine.

Blend in the flour and mix well until the dough starts to come away from the sides of the bowl.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface and fit it into a greased, 9x13 pan.

Brush the surface of the dough with melted butter, then cut the dough into rectangles.

Let the dough rise in a warm place (80° to 85° F.) until doubled in size, for about 30 minutes. Start preheating your oven while the rolls are rising.

Bake at 425° F. for 20 minutes.

Brush the tops of the dinner rolls with more melted butter after they come out of the oven if you want the tops to be soft.
